Regarding the new rules for mandatory medical examinations of foreign citizens
The new rules for medical examinations are introduced by the Federal Law "On Amendments to the Federal Law "On the Legal Status of Foreign Citizens in the Russian Federation" and the Federal Law "On State Fingerprint Registration in the Russian Federation" (with the exception of certain provisions).
This law comes into force on December 29, 2021.
Foreign citizens who have arrived in the Russian Federation for a period of more than 90 days will need to undergo a medical examination. The examination includes a check for the presence/absence of:
• the use of narcotics narcotic or other psychotropic substances;
• infectious diseases that pose a danger to others,
• diseases caused by the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV infection).
It is necessary to undergo a medical examination again within 30 days from the date of expiration of the documents confirming the passage of the previous medical examination.
In agreement with the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, an order will be issued that will establish the validity period of the relevant medical documents, it will be equal to 1 year.
The list of medical organizations that will be authorized to conduct a medical examination is determined by the subjects of the Russian Federation.
